Dauin Marine Sanctuary
This protected area is one of the most popular dive sites in Dauin, known for its healthy reef and diverse marine life. You'll find soft corals, hard coral patches, sea turtles, and schools of reef fish. Great visibility and shallow depths make it ideal for both beginners and experienced divers, as well as underwater photographers looking for colorful reef scenes.
Masaplod Marine Sanctuary
A well-managed marine reserve with excellent coral coverage and fish life. Masaplod offers sloping reefs, coral bommies, and lots of action from reef fish like butterflyfish, parrotfish, and occasionally trevally or barracuda. Turtles are frequently seen here, and the reef is teeming with macro life for those who take it slow. A balanced dive site perfect for both wide-angle and macro photography.
Dauin South
Dauin South offers a little bit of everything. The site starts with patches of healthy coral and small reef structures, where you'll find reef fish like damselfish, parrotfish, and the occasional turtle cruising by. As you move deeper or along the slope, the site transitions into classic muck terrain with sand, rubble, and scattered debris—ideal for spotting critters like nudibranchs, cuttlefish, pipefish, and frogfish. Whether you're into reef scenery or macro hunting, Dauin South delivers a solid mix of both.
Sahara
Sahara is much more than just sand. While it gets its name from the open, desert-like bottom, this site is dotted with massive artificial reef structures including large cage formations and a sunken ship that have become vibrant marine hangouts. Schools of fish swirl through the structures, lionfish and glassfish hover in the shelter of overhangs, and you might even catch a turtle gliding by. On the sandy stretches in between, keep your eyes peeled for blue-spotted stingrays resting motionless, jawfish peeking from their burrows, and seahorses clinging to bits of debris. Sahara is a versatile dive, great for wide angle views of the ship and reef cages, and just as rewarding for macro hunters scouring the sand.
Apo Island
Apo Island is a world-renowned marine sanctuary and one of the Philippines' most treasured dive destinations. This volcanic island is famous for its incredible sea turtle encounters - both Green and Hawksbill turtles are commonly seen grazing on seagrass beds throughout the shallow coral gardens. With over 650 documented fish species and 400+ coral species, Apo Island offers pristine reefs with exceptional visibility. The unique geothermal activity creates fascinating underwater 'breathing' as bubbles emerge from the sandy bottom at sites like Largahan. From dramatic wall dives at Chapel Point to thrilling drift dives at Coconut and Cogon on the north side, Apo Island delivers world-class diving for all levels while supporting vital marine conservation efforts.
Allura House Reef
The Allura Resort House Reef is a captivating dive site renowned for its impressive artificial reef, making it a prime destination for macro photography enthusiasts and marine life lovers. Located at a depth of approximately 20 meters, this vibrant underwater habitat boasts an array of fascinating marine species. Divers can expect to encounter elusive frogfish, a variety of unique shrimp species, and an array of colorful nudibranchs that add to the reef's visual allure.
